![]() ![]() Though, a La Resistance (HoI) type expansion can import those mechanics. Well, this one is the only main aspect, I see, might be lacking. In Vic3 you can build a state with ideologies and laws of your choosing and an important part of the game is about building the infrastructure and industry.Ĥ- A time for espionage and intelligence gathering. Vic 3 has detailed population dynamics with different government formations and various revolutions.ģ- A time when many young nations emerged and struggled to build their economic infrastructure and industry. It is a simulation of industrialization, economic expansion and diplomatic domination where it is more important to expand your market than your territory much like the Cold War era.Ģ- A time of social changes and revolutions. Vic3 is all about peacetime mechanics over wartime ones. The commitment that Paradox has had to mod support, I imagine, would only make the mod community better and more creative in the implementation of many of the ideas that are probably being cooked up right now. ![]() OTOH HOI4's MDM and Cold War mods were ambitious attempts at tackling the time frame with excellent warfare simulation but limited by the nature of the base game with economics and politics, while EU4s extended timeline presents an incredibly gamified depiction of the modern age, which isn't bad but did not satisfy my (and I suspect many other's) itch for a true simulation of the present day.īy the way things are shaping up with the dev diaries, it seems to me that the inevitable slew of mods depicting the aforementioned time frame would probably counts as a better simulation of the Cold War and modern era than many of the profesionally released games currently on the market. Cold War Enhancement in Victoria 2 was a really great (if incomplete) simulation of modern 20th and 21st century politics and economics but was a poor simulation of modern warfare. ![]()
